- KRC is based in northern Tanzania, at the foot of Mount Kilimandjaro, in the village of Lerang’wa, one of the (9) 11 villages that make up the Enduimet Wildlife (Conservation) Management Area.
- From an ecological point of view, this area serves as a link between the Mkomazi, Arusha and Kilimanjaro National Parks in Tanzania and the Tsavo – Amboseli ecosystem in Kenya.
- The Enduimet region is crossed by the last elephant migration corridor between southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. It is therefore of paramount importance for the conservation and protection of this endangered species.
